Our utility companies are a source of pride in Brownsville and Haywood County. Brownsville Energy Authority has supplied the citizens of Brownsville and parts of Haywood County with water, wastewater, electricity, propane, and natural gas for over 60 years. Our other utility company, Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation, is the largest electric cooperative in West Tennessee. STEMC provides electric service to parts of Chester, Crockett, Fayette, Hardeman, Haywood, Henderson, Madison and Tipton Counties.
